What Taurus Season Wants You to Know
Slowing down, building something real, and trusting the timing + A Taurus Season Playlist
If the first few months of the year have felt like a sprint, Taurus Season is the break you’ve been waiting for.
We’ve just come through Aries Season, which carried a fast-paced, ready-or-not kind of energy. And while that fire was useful for getting things started (I even launched AstrologywithMonica after many months of study and preparation!), Taurus has a very different agenda. It’s not in a hurry, it wants you to slow down and come back to your senses to build something that will actually last.
That’s what Taurus wants you to know about the next few weeks.
A Closer Look at Taurus
Taurus is one of the oldest constellations in recorded history, recognized by ancient civilizations across Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome, dating back at least 4,000 years! In many ancient cultures, the bull was a powerful symbol of strength, fertility, and the earth itself.
Taurus is a Fixed Earth sign, ruled by Venus, which means:
Fixed means it holds steady. Fixed signs don’t change course on a whim. They commit, they endure, and they follow through. That can be a real strength, though it’s can also be stubbornness at times.
Earth means it’s grounded in the physical world. Taurus isn’t interested in abstract ideas for their own sake. It wants something tangible, something it can see, touch, taste, or feel. It’s the sign most attuned to the body and the senses.
Venus-ruled means it’s oriented toward beauty, pleasure, comfort, and connection. Taurus has exquisite taste. It appreciates the finer things, not out of superficiality, but because it genuinely understands that quality matters and that life is meant to be enjoyed.
In classical astrology, Venus in Taurus represents the more earthy, embodied, and sensual side of Venus, as distinct from her airy, relational expression in Libra, her other home sign. Taurus Season is Venus rooted in the physical world, appreciating what can be touched, tasted, and experienced directly.
This Season Is for Everyone, Not Just Taurus
What’s important to know is that every one of us has all twelve signs (including Taurus) somewhere in our birth chart. We also all have Venus somewhere in our chart. That means Taurus and Venusian energy aren’t foreign to you, even if you have a different sun sign. They live somewhere in your chart, influencing a particular area of your life.
Every one of us has all twelve signs somewhere in our birth chart, including Taurus. We also all have Venus somewhere in our chart.
When the Sun moves through Taurus each year, it activates that part of your chart. It shines a light on the themes that Taurus rules for you specifically, whether that’s your finances, your relationships, your home, your work, your creative life, or something else entirely.
So regardless of when you were born, this season has something to say to you. The question is simply: where does Taurus show up in your chart, and what’s being illuminated right now?
If you're curious about that for your own chart, a natal chart consultation is a great place to start. But even without that level of detail, you can work with the general Taurus energy this season and feel the difference.
The Themes of Taurus Season
As the Sun moves through Taurus, a few core themes come into focus for all of us:
Values. Taurus rules what we value, both materially and personally. This is a good time to ask yourself whether how you’re spending your time, energy, and money actually reflects what matters most to you. If there’s a gap between your stated values and your daily choices, Taurus Season has a way of making that visible.
Patience and the long view. Taurus doesn’t believe in shortcuts. It knows that real things take time, whether that’s a garden, a business, a relationship, or a creative body of work. This season supports recommitting to the long game rather than chasing quick results.
Pleasure and presence. Taurus invites you back into your body and your senses. It wants you to actually enjoy your life, not just manage it. That’s not indulgence for its own sake. It’s a reminder that presence and pleasure are restorative, and that you do better work when you’re not running on empty.
Key Dates This Season
Here’s what to watch as we move through Taurus Season:
April 19: Sun enters Taurus. The season officially begins. Consider this your invitation to downshift and open up to receiving.
April 24 - May 3: Venus squares the lunar nodes. This window can bring meaningful decisions to the surface, especially around love, money, or relationships. Pay attention to what’s asking for a choice or a commitment during this time.
May 1: Full Moon in Scorpio. Scorpio is Taurus’s opposite sign, and this full moon will carry some emotional intensity. It’s a powerful moment for honesty, for releasing what’s no longer serving you, and for deepening bonds that matter. Expect some themes around transformation and intimacy to come to the surface.
May 16: New Moon in Taurus. This is one of the most grounded and intentional new moons of the entire year. Use it to set clear, concrete intentions around stability, security, and what you’re building for the long term.
How to Work With Taurus Energy Right Now
You don’t need to do anything complicated. Taurus actually prefers simplicity. Here are some practical ways to align with the energy of this season:
Get outside and put your feet on the grass
Put your hands in the soil and plant something
Curl up with a cozy blanket and your favorite movie
Put fresh flowers on your table
Slow down with a cup of herbal tea, taking time to really savor it
Spend time in nature, especially in forests
Revisit what you’re building and recommit to the long view
Cook a meal from scratch and enjoy every bite
Give yourself permission to rest without earning it first
Create a Taurus mood board (similar to the one I created for this post)
Listen to a Taurus Mood playlist (I created one for you! Click here to listen on Spotify: Taurus Season Playlist)
The common thread here is presence. Taurus energy isn’t asking you to do more. It’s asking you to be more fully where you already are.
A Closing Thought
We live in a culture that values speed, productivity, and constant output. Taurus Season is a quiet but firm counterargument to all of that.
Slow and steady isn’t falling behind. It’s how things actually get built.
If you’ve been pushing hard, this is your permission slip to ease up a little. Tend to what you’re growing. Trust the timing. Let yourself enjoy the life you’re working so hard to create.
That’s the real gift of Taurus Season, and it’s available to all of us.
What are you doing to connect with Taurus Season energy? I’d love to hear from you!
Until next time,
Monica
