When You Know It's Time for a Change (But You're Not Sure What's Next)
How astrology can help you find clarity, trust your timing, and take your next step.
Do you ever get the feeling that something in your life needs to shift, even if you can’t quite name what it is yet?
Maybe you’re restless. Maybe you catch yourself daydreaming about a completely different way of working or living. Part of you feels excited but part of you wonders if you’re a little crazy for even thinking about it, especially when the life you have now looks good on paper.
If that’s you right now, I want you to know you’re in good company. I lived in that exact feeling for years.
My own pivot started with a feeling I couldn’t shake
Back in 2014, I was a COO at a healthcare nonprofit. From the outside, I had it all figured out. On the inside, my heart was yearning for more freedom, meaning, and creativity. I knew I wanted something completely different, but I had no idea what that looked like yet.
I’d spent so long in the corporate world that I’d gotten really good at analyzing my options with my head. Listening to my heart was a different story. I was constantly restless, and I felt a real need to change, even though some of my coworkers thought that was a little crazy at the time.
There was another layer too. It felt like there were two Monicas. There was the corporate business leader during the day, and then there was the intuitive, spiritual, essential-oil wearing “woo-woo” woman the rest of the time. I thought I had to keep those two completely separate. I had underlying beliefs that I’d never be able to earn a living following my spiritual interests and that I had to keep up a professional persona to be successful. So I kept her hidden.
My body knew before I did. I had every symptom of burnout, physically and mentally. I’ll never forget going in for a massage and having the therapist ask if I’d been in a car accident. I said no and asked why. She told me my fascia, the connective tissue around the muscles and organs, was the tightest she’d ever felt outside of clients who actually had been in accidents. Something needed to change. I just didn’t know where to begin.
Does any of this sound familiar?
What finally helped me see clearly
Around that time, I had my first real astrology reading. I knew I loved astrology and had been reading my horoscope for more than 20 years, so I thought I had a good understanding of the subject. I quickly realized I’d only seen the tip of the iceberg.
My astrologer walked me through my chart step-by-step. She put words to things I’d known deep inside but hadn’t had the courage to believe yet. That experience gave me the confidence to eventually write and publish a book. It also helped me see that my sensitivity wasn’t something to hide. It was a core part of who I am.
It took me almost another decade, and a season of caring for an ill family member, before I fully made my pivot. I changed jobs twice, I also tried executive coaching. I studied all the coaching industry’s tools, including the Enneagram, Myers Briggs, StrengthsFinder. They were helpful, but none of them gave me the depth I’d felt in that first astrology reading.
Eventually I stopped resisting and took an astrology class, just to learn more. I absolutely loved it, and I woke up excited to study every morning, something I hadn’t experienced in years. One of my mentors looked at my chart and gently pointed out that it was the chart of an astrologer. It had been there the whole time.
And that taught me something about pivots in general. The answer is already within you! What you’re meant to do, your purpose, what will truly make you happy, it’s all in there. You may just need a little help seeing it. Your chart can show you your comfort zone and the growth zone you’re here to reach in this lifetime. It wasn’t an accident that you were born; there’s a reason you’re here. You have a purpose that matters.
I made the pivot, and I'm so glad I did. Now I wake up excited to work every morning. I've met incredible instructors and mentors who've helped me expand my knowledge in ways I never expected. And most importantly, I get to work with the most amazing clients. We have awe-inspiring moments together exploring their charts, the kind that give you chills.

How astrology can actually help when you’re ready to pivot
Astrology offers something rare, a wider view of your life and your place in the world. When you’re standing at a crossroads, that wider view is exactly what’s hard to access on your own.
A consultation won’t tell you to quit your job. You’re always the one in the driver’s seat. It just gives you a clearer view to decide from, and it helps in a few really practical ways.
It helps you understand the season you’re in. Some seasons are made for bold leaps. Others are quieter, and they reward laying the groundwork before you make a move. Knowing which one you’re in can save you a lot of second-guessing. If it’s a season for building, your next step isn’t to blow everything up. It’s to start one small thing.
It helps you tell a true pivot apart from burnout. Sometimes that restless feeling means it’s genuinely time for a new direction. Sometimes it means you’re exhausted and you need real rest before you decide anything. Your chart can help you tell the difference, so you don’t make a permanent choice from a temporary place. (Trust me, I wish I’d understood this sooner.)
It helps you remember what actually lights you up. Not what you’ve been told you should want. The work that suits you, the way you want to be known, the direction you keep getting pulled toward. When you can see that clearly, the next step gets a lot less foggy.
It turns insight into action. Understanding yourself is wonderful, but it’s the next step that actually changes your life. So you’ll leave with more than insight. You’ll leave with a clear sense of what to do next.
You already know more than you think
Most often, a consultation with an astrologer simply confirms what you’ve sensed all along. It gives you permission to trust your own inner knowing.
A recent client told me through some tears, “You’ve given me permission to let go of the pressure I’ve been putting on myself my entire life to be someone different than who I am. I now see that I have a different path in this lifetime, and that I’m making a valuable contribution to the world.”
Another told me it freed her to stop trying to swim upstream in the parts of her life that were never meant to change in the first place.
That’s what a good reading does. It doesn’t hand you someone else’s plan. It helps you trust the one that’s already yours.
If you’re standing at your own crossroads
If you’re feeling that restless pull toward something new, you don’t have to have it all figured out before you take a look. An astrology consultation can give you that wider view, a clearer sense of your timing, and a few real next steps to carry forward.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Whenever you feel ready, I’d love to help you see what’s already there and where to go from here.
Until next time,
